Interviews at Finley Stadium

Yesterday I left the show early to work on this article that I am doing for the Pulse weekly. It was pretty awesome to talk to the soccer players. This should be a pretty good article. I have to go back on Thursday to wrap it up. Sigh the life of a journalist...

Back from "vacation"

So Nick is back in studio as well as I am. Now I did not go on his baseball trip with him however, I did find ways to keep myself busy. The NBA draft happened last Thursday (my b'day) Maybe it's just me but I say that Wesley Johnson is going to be one (if not the best) players that recently got traded. Too bad he is going to the Timberwolves. And there is "something" about DeMarcus Cousins that I do not like. My boy Ed Davis got drafted by the Raptors! Looks like I will be buying that jersey in the upcoming months.

This might be my last blog for quite some time because I have a lot of busy, busy, work to do for Nick so tt4n

7th Heaven and the wright way

It is a great thing that I work for ESPN (Chattanooga) because I did picked LA to win it all in 7. Not only am I going to be right but I will win $10! Gosh the Lakers better win tonight. It really does help that Perkins is out.

Like I do every Wednesday, I go to the movies with my buddy Tania. Last night we watched Just Wright with Queen Latifah, Common, and Paula Patton. Overall it was a pretty good movie. I was just mad that the Nets played the Magic 18 times (all at the Izod Center) and the Nets made the NBA finals!

Just funny to me. But talk about eye candy in Paula Patton! Mercy!!! IF you're a guy watch it for Paula Patton, if you're a girl watch it Common.

Weekend of Wonders

It is Monday so I shall give you a recap of my weekend. On Saturday I watched the England vs. USA match. Ugh I am so upset with the outcome! I know that I was born in the United States of America but I am an England fan. Not a USA hater, they are just not my #1. I did love how (my boy) Steven Gerrard scored within the first four minutes! But good grief Robert Green, good freakin grief!! Later that night I watched Running Scared (starring Paul Walker) and made a Wal-mart run with Tania.

Sunday was more Tania time. We went to see The Karate Kid. Pretty good movie. I loved the ending credits I counted FIVE pictures of Will Smith! Ooh, what a guy. Anyways then we moved hopped to the killers. Eh this movie was alright..glad we saw it for free. Then watched game 5 of the NBA finals. I know I have been saying this all series but gosh these ref's suck! Well I am not to to surprised because I did pick LA to win it all in seven.

World Cup or Riverbend?

June 11, 2010 is here meaning that this is the first day of the World Cup or Riverbend (depending who you are.) Of course I am going to try to do both as much as possible.

While in Nick's office I was watching the South Africa/Mexico game. It was a shame that I did not get a chance to see the goals scored. From what I heard, Mexico got screwed. Oh well, it is not like these teams would do that good and make a serious run anyways.

So I did a lot of riverbend setup today. Boy is it hot outside! I am even leaving the show early to go back and set up even more. Sorry this is going to have to be a short one because I am watching the France/Uruguay game!

Couldn't think of a great title...

So yesterday was my friend Tania's Birthday. We went to the dollar theater (greatest idea ever!!) and watched The Losers. Starring Zoe Saldana, Chris Evans, and Idris Elba.

The plot of this movie according to IMDb is A tale of double cross and revenge, centered upon the members of an elite U.S. Special Forces unit sent into the Bolivian jungle on a search and destroy mission. The team-Clay, Jensen, Roque, Pooch and Cougar -find themselves the target of a lethal betrayal instigated from inside by a powerful enemy known only as Max. Presumed dead, the group makes plans to even the score when they're joined by the mysterious Aisha, a beautiful operative with her own agenda. Working together, they must remain deep undercover while tracking the heavily-guarded Max, a ruthless man bent on embroiling the world in a new high-tech global war. All and all it was a pretty good movie. If you like action and want to see sexy Zoe Saldana kick some ass then watch this movie!

The Stanley Cup Finals was also on but I did not watch it. But for what it is worth go Blackhawks! Way to end that drought. The Flyers did have a great, great playoff run. The NBA finals picks up again tonight and I believe that Boston is going to win the game tonight. Yeah I know, I do have LA winning it in all but you know how LA is about all the (johnny) drama. But if some way that the Celtics DO come back and win the championship, it would have to be in 7 games. Just like my good friend Andrew Dormus said "The Lakers like leaving the back door open."

So the mighty men of troy got hit hard. Yes, The USC Trojans got banned from Bowl games for two years. (That's what happens when you don't wrap up with Trojans.) Anyways, its all good because in three to four years they will be back at the top.

More college sports news...Colorado is moving to the Pac 10 and there is a rumor that Texas and Texas Tech will more to the Big Ten and Oklahoma to the SEC. I still am not a fan of all of this crap! As long as the ACC is straight then I will be straight. Go Tarheels!!! We will back in the final four in 2012!!

When you're hot, you're hot, and when you're not, you're not!

Just by the title alone should tell you what I am going to post about! Sigh (Walter) Ray Allen AKA Jesus Shuttlesworth. In Game 2 He got game with his 32 points, and making 8/11 3 pointers! (7 in a row) But last night was...I don't even know how to put it in words! The stats speak for themselves. 42 minutes 0-8 from 3 point land and 0-13 from the field!! Sugar Ray did have 2 points from the freethrow line.
Well that clearly not enough to beat the Fisher and the Lakers.

Yep, Derek Fisher and his left handed skills came through! 16 points and straight clutchness! Remember there are TWO current Lakers players who have 4 championship rings. Another thing, those stupid ref's just suck even more! Yet, again as long as I win my 10 bucks I will be straight.

Short blog today (I know, I know, I am slacking)

Back from the weekend

This is my first blog since the weekend so I guess I will let everyone know what I am thinking about.

Saturday night All I did was go to Mckays to get some DVDs. When I left Mckays I had red eye, spiderman 1 & 2, ID4, and In Living Color (season 1.) Great great stuff! I really enjoyed my Saturday night!

Sunday was basically hooping day. I got a text from Vic asking what I was going to be doing at 1:00 and I told him nothing. He told me people are hooping at the YMCA so I did that in the afternoon then went to the school gym to hoop even more. Boy, was I tired after all of that. The I went home to watch the lakers/celtics games. Ugh the ref's are trying to make me lose this bet! Oh well its 1-1 and I believe that LA is going to win 2 in Boston before they come back to LA LA land.

Yesterday was just a lookouts game and coming home to watch dexter. My stupid dvd driver wont open! Ugh so I got all those DVDs and I can't even watch them!

Today I just ripped up carpets early in the morning and now I am with Nick on the air. I got LA winning tonight

Sorry this blog lacked the sports talk. The next one should be better.

Back2Back..YEAH...YEAH!!

Man, look at me go! My second straight post! It is like Nick is paying me to do this or something (but he really is not.)

Okay let's get into it..I know you guys are on the edge of your seat to hear my NBA Finals thoughts. Well here we go. LA BEAT (and i do mean BEAT) Boston 102-89. Kobe continued his 30 point rampage and the supporting cast did what they had to do. Before the game started I told one of the Deans that there was going to be a fight in this series. Low behold in second possession of the game Ron Ron and PP got in a mini "pushing war." What a way to kick off the series!!

Now for the rest of the game...eh not so great..I've seen better (and played better.) But hey that's a win for LA. Which means I am only 3 LA victories away from winning that $10 bucks from Gene Stevens! That is something I am really excited for. Plus my birthday is coming up! (mmmmm Happy EARLY Birthday to me!)

So lets see what else there is to talk about...umm how about those Hockey ratings? According to the NHL page on ESPN "Game 3 drew the largest TV audience for the Stanley Cup finals on cable in eight years." Big markets and close games will do it. Such much for big stars in the Stanley Cup.

What is up with all these soccer players getting injured? Ballack..Ferdinand..Drogba..Pirlo good grief! Well, at least most of the big names are still healthy (for now)

Ha Danny Ferry resigned. I am still not sure if that helps the Cavs keeping LeBron James. I don't care much about Ferry (Duke sucks.) Hopefully something big will happen this weekend so I have more to blog about!

About time for the Finals to start!

So it took five days but the NBA Finals is finally here! You don't even have to ask me if I am going to watch it or not. Of course I am going to watch game 1. Besides the fact that Shenise would KILL ME if I missed the game, I have seen game 1 of the NBA finals from 1997. Just got to keep my "ironman" streak going.
I believe that the Lakers will win in 7 games. Also, I made a bet with Gene Stevens that the Lakers will win the championship. Boy I hope I am right because I NEED to win this 10 bucks.
Anyways..enough of my life and lack of money. Ken Griffey Jr retired. *tears* What a great player in the 90s! My favorite baseball player of all-time. A pure lefty, #24 and just an amazing talent. (Damn injuries and old age!) Hopefully Jason Heyward will be the next "Kid"
Honestly its a pretty dull sports day. I mean you had Griff you had the ump jacking up the perfect game (which was a horrible call.) and Lakers vs. Celtics (part 12) Everything else is just blah
Last night I went to the dollar theater to see Bounty Hunter starting Gerard Butler and Jennifer Aniston. Eh, I thought the movie was going to be better. It was kind of like Cop-Out. Is it just me or has it been a while since I have seen a GREAT movie at the dollar theater?
Guess thats why it is called the DOLLAR THEATER...
